Throughout Europe, "corn" has always been the generic name for any of the cereal grains; Europeans call corn maize, a derivative of the early American Indian word mahiz. Corn is not only a popular food, but the foundation of many by-products including bourbon, corn flour, cornmeal, corn oil, cornstarch, corn syrup, corn whiskey and laundry starch.

Heirloom Organics Non-Hybrid Seed Packs are processed for long-term storage, increasing the shelf-life of our seeds by many years. We use the methods developed and approved by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) for processing and packaging seeds for long-term storage. Heirloom Organics is the only supplier of seeds that has studied and implemented these methods developed by the USDA. No other seeds available today incorporate these advanced methods for seed packaging and storage. Heirloom Organics Seed Packs are truly the food source of tomorrow, packaged with advanced storage methods today.

All seeds have on average between 5-7 years shelf life is store under the right conditions. The shelf life varies per the variety of the seed, but each pack is marked with the manufacturer date and expiration date. Each variety of seed has its own natural seed life. On any of the seeds that have been prepared for long term storage we have DOUBLED the natural shelf life of the seeds. For longest storage life, you should store the seeds in a cool and dry place. There are desiccants in the buckets that can be reused if the bucket is opened. You can store seeds in a refrigerator or the freezer or a cool, dry closet. If you freeze them, do not thaw and refreeze. If you do choose to plant them and harvest the seeds, remember that those seeds will keep for however long the natural shelf life is for that variety.

Due to ongoing seed shortages, seed varieties subject to change without notice. Replacements will be as close as possible and will be included in your order documentation.
